YE Yang and Tiger Woods tied at the turn with Tiger Woods who is world renowned because of his putting prowess, missing a number of putts because of his untypical poor distance control. The worlds No1 golfer acceded the final round lead to a self taught virtually unknown South Korean. At the turn Yang was tied with Woods who had been unusually unsure of his putting. His distance control was poor and he missed a number of putts which would ordinarily not have been a problem for him. After leading 54 holes and leading a perfect 14-of-14 the defending champion missed a few putts because of poor distance control, giving his playing partner the opportunity to take advantage of his lapse. Padraig Harrington who was in contention earlier made a quintuple-bogey 8 on the par-3 i9th effectively kicking him out of the running. Y.E. Yang chipped in for eagle from just off the green and with Wood’s consequent birdie Yang was able to take the lead winning the prestigious competition by three strokes.
