Nick Watney Player Profile

Nick Watney may be one of the newest faces on the PGA Tour, but he is steadily moving up in the World Golf Ratings.  His love for competitive golf is clearly seen in his attitude and the way that he plays.  He has said of the difference between collegiate golf and the PGA Tour, “To be honest with you, it's just the amount of money I'm playing for. Not playing for anything in college and playing for purses like this is a big change. But it's where I want to be. I love to play golf competitively.”

Born on April 25, 1981, Nick Watney has seen great success on the collegiate level, as well as the Nationwide Tour and currently, the PGA Tour.  This American golfer was the 2004 Nationwide Tour Champion and this earned him qualification in the PGA Tour.  After two years of playing the PGA Tour, he won his first PGA Tour title at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans in 2007.  In 2009, he saw his second tour win at the Buick International at Torrey Pines Golf Course.

Nick is known for his driving distance ranking and this is part of the reason why he is seeing such great results on the PGA Tour.  This 6ft-2inch golfer shows skill, distance, and accuracy each and every time that he steps out on the golf course.  Even though his results in the 2009 Masters were not as he would like, he showed great promise for the future in his playing.

Nick Watney is a golfer that you are sure to want to keep an eye on in the future.  His consistent swing and driving distance, combined with his putting, are sure to help his career to soar as far as the balls he drives.
