Taylor Made Golf is one company that was either consciously or subconsciously thinking of this during product development.  The company, known as the number 1 manufacturer of drivers used in professional golf, has released a new club called the R9 driver.  You would think that this  driver is just like all the others when you hear the name.  A closer inspection on this product will show you that this is not the case at all.

This driver claims to be the world’s first fully customizable driver.  What does this mean, you ask?  The golfer can customize the loft, lie and angle of the club with a couple of key options.  The customizing comes in with the head weight distribution in the head and a “metallic sleeve” positioned at the tip of the shaft.  These pieces are what allow the club to be customized as it is and deliver great results for the golfer.

The beauty of this club is that it allows you to make adjustments to your game as frequently as you want.  Have you been hitting too many off the tee directly left?  Adjust the club to compensate for this hook or slice and keep your tee shots on track.  Additionally, the longer you play with this club and evolve your game, the more you can change it up for maximum benefit.  Once you get more comfortable off the tee you can change the angle to be a more low-flying drive, which are typically harder to control.

This club has been rumored and talked about for a long time due to this revolutionary introduction to customizable clubs, dubbed “Flight Control Technology” by TaylorMade.  The club will retail for around $400 but it just might be the best $400 an amateur has spent on a golf club in their life.
